If Dole's resignation was, as you say, a ploy to
get votes
then it seems that your candidate Kerry
missed a trick.

I disagree with your take, though.
It was an honorable thing for Dole to do.
Kerry's term doesn't expire until 2008 and
he's just hedging his bet.

As for important votes, Kerry missed the
vote on extension of unemployment benefits,
which fell ONE vote short of passing.

So I guess that one was unimportant in your view?

That wasn't true for all important votes. He missed an important vote that missed by one vote on the extension of unemployment benefits. That was a serious mistake.
