I use the enteric form which has a coating... still only costs a penny on sale!

Ish, I have the same problem. My use of alcohol, combined with the aspirin in alkaseltzer, plus those taken for the headaches brought on by hangovers, ate my gut up like acid. I almost died 4 times from bleeding ulcers resulting from not taking good enough care of the gut. Once that happens, the gut cannot ever heal itself enough to allow the use of aspirin products again. I use Tylenol for minor aches, and pains, which does not have the same effect as aspirin, and haven't had an episode of bleeding gut since I moved to Florida, for the reason you are familiar with. The weak gut, combined with a very stressful situation, can be a killer. Not touching alcohol since 97 helps a bunch too.
