The debates are seldom anything more than a free time for the candidates to say anything they want and to answer however they wish, even when it has nothing to do with the question. Why do the moderators permit this? I would step in and repeat the question for the candidate until he understood what was being asked. They are first would continue to try to control the debate, but eventually would be made to look bad and would stay on topic, I believe we all would like to see that.
