..ties and cooperation between Saddam and Al-Qaeda. Absolutely. Also between Saddam and other terrorists as well. First of all, the 911 Committee only claimed no proof of ties between Al Qaeda and Iraq in regard to 911, not no ties at all. Secondly, Vladimir Putin today said Russian intelligence warned the US Saddam planned to launch terror attacks against the US. This warning came after 911 but before the Iraq war. So the US had a credible motive (to preempt future terror attacks) to take out Saddam totally separate from Al Qaeda considerations.
