Who, in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, are the terrorists?

That's a good question, and the answer depends largely on your perspective. Certainly the Palestinians view the Israelies as the terrorists, and the Israelies view the Palestinians as the terrorists. There's no doubt that both sides have committed atrocities. But, the only point of view that matters to an American is how it affects our security and our terrorism threat. We aren't being attacked by Jewish terrorists over our support for Palestine. We are being attacked, or face potential attack, because of our support for Isreal. So obviously, it's the arab terrorists that we have to be concerned with in this situation, As far as laughing it off and saying it's no concern to you. Go ahead and bury your head in the sand. You live in NYC, a place that is more predisposed to terrorism than any other in our country, especially Middle Eastern based terrorism due to all of the jewish people residing in the area. I guess you're not very concerned about your safety and securtiy. We would be a safer country and NYC would be a safer city if the Palestinian/Israeli conflict was settled. And, we have the power to force a settlement since we subsidize Israel's economy so heavily. Putting the merits of that support aside, it obviously is a controveral issue, we could use it to bring about a desired result.

As far as what the average Palestinian would think about ending our Israel gravy train, I imagine they'd be thrilled (unless their job depended on it). The arab world doesn't like the fact that we side with Israel in the conflict and support them monetarily. Any move on our part to cut off those funds to force a settlement would be cheered, especially if it resulted in the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Money talks and BS walks in this world. You better believe if suddenly we withdrew $4 Billion from Israel and they didn't have sufficient funds to run their country, they'd be looking for a solution to appease their benefactors in Washington. What are they going to do, just forgoe the aid and continue the war? Perhaps, but that would be awfully pig headed of them, much more likely would be a serious effort to come to term with the Palestinians.
