You are so right. If the conservatives were up for making movies, you know they'd be spinning their "patriotic" viewpoint. Patriotism is about defending your country (or your vision of it)- and while the right thinks the country needs to be defended from the left, the left thinks it needs to be defended from the right- I personally think the middle has got to get militant, and inject some real sense and proportion into the mix, and defend the country from all extremists, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. What I don't understand is why the extremists on both ends don't see themselves in each other- they have so much in common, you'd think they'd love each other :-) Actually maybe they DO love each other, and that's why you see passionate and unending relationships all over SI...
