Oh, Enron was the brains. They recommended two FERC commissioners (to Bush), who voted for hard price caps the first chance they got. They put a Bush team in the White House that refused to bail them out even when former Secretary of the Treasury Rubin personally made a call asking for a bailout. BTW, which Republican Administration did Robert Rubin serve in?

You think the RNC was involved in getting rid of Gray Davis? LOL! Gillespie was "neutral" about removing Davis. Oh yeah, California is an absolute mess, and the RNC was itching to replace Davis with the most liberal Republican Governor since Earl Warren. Sarge Shriver's son in-law at that! Yeah, that's the ticket.
