Ann, I am not a big Kerry fan,...

But most important of all, you are a realist, Mephisto, I am sure that both Dean and Edwards would have an important role to play in a Kerry Administration.

It is a no brainer that Kerry would not be reaching out to his fellow Democrats who gave him a very good fight and that instead he would go and court a Republican, John McCain. Kerry, like you is a realist and he knows how to get everybody together.

Welcome back.

Mehpisto, Just noticed I missed this post of yours from Jun 17. In it you asked "Why do you think he(Kerry) is a playboy?"

It was an accumulation of facts about his life. A thorough biography of JK is available at the Boston Globe website, it describes his shaky emotional childhood roots, shipped to 1st foreign boarding school at 10y/o, spent summers on wealthy relatives estate in Britanny (his mother's Forbes family) His education was financed courtesy of a wealthy spinster aunt. In his youth he always seemed to cozy up to vast wealth but it was just beyond his reach...always the hanger on in relatives' luxurious estates. The description of his 1st marriage to an heiress, subsequent divorce and then marrying Sen John Heinz's widow just 5yrs after the senator's death, convinced me he's a fortune hunter who has always enjoyed having wealthy playtoys at his disposal...yachts, ski lodges, private airplanes, pricey sporting gear, etc. It became a habit in his youth, and marrying wealthy women ensured the habit continued to be fed up until the present day. His current obsession is the prospect of indulging in another extreme sport--being Pres of USA. As usual, his current heiress' vast fortune has helped in every possible legal way (sincerely hope it has all been lawful)to procure him the candidacy. In John Kerry's life story, he always found a way for a wealthy woman to make sure he is not disappointed on Christmas morning. I expect that Nov 2 will prove to him that there are things money can't buy...like the White House.
