It reminded me of the poetry that came out of WWI. That war killed the Victorian ethos, and the Victorians produced great poetry. Perhaps, now that we seem to be returning to an ethic of God, King, and Country, our wars of aggression will once again produce great poetry. Vietnam didn't leave us with any memorable poetry.
