No, that's a reason for AMD to maximize CPU revenues and profits. Releasing the fastest speed grade you can, as soon as you can produce a few, is often a mistake (as far as profits go), especially when the competition is already a speed grade or two behind in paper, and further behind in terms of broad availability.

If Intel catches up a bit before 90nm is really rolling along, I'm 95% sure AMD can manage 2.6 GHz parts on 130nm. Certainly the low-volume FX, and perhaps 939 Newcastles, too. But the news from the Inq today suggests 3.6GHz Prescott parts will be paper until the very end of Q3, and even the 3.4GHz parts will be rare through August.
