I'm curious as to the basis on which you compare the current economy to the Carter years. To me, there's no comparison whatsoever. What factors are you looking at?

And pleae dont tell me the 2.7 unemploment rate of 1999-early 2000 was the norm. That was a bubble-induced condition with 23-yr olds who had little useful experience earning $80k plus options at dotcom co's.
