So now Bush is using former KGB guys as character witnesses? Putin wants Bush in power for some reason, probably some big oil deal. Whatever the reason, lately he has been BS'ing people to help Bush. Last week, he told that whopper about how Kerry and Democrats cannot criticize Bush for Iraq because they said the same things about Saddam. Yes perhaps, though less, but look at Kerry's 2002 plan to deal with Sadda:

- Invade only as last resort "because we have to"
- Force Saddam to let inspectors scour Iraq
- Build huge international coalition including moderate Arab states
- Plan and prepare carefully, especially for post-invasion
- Work with the UN

Bush promised to do all of the above but lied on every single item. That's how he hoodwinked congress, and also used evidence he knew was shoddy to make his case to the UN. He made liars out of America, and he either knew better or was completely inept. Take your pick.
