I suspect your impression of what they said, and mine will be different. I will look up their news conference- I'm sure I can find a transcript now that I know where you saw them, but I am also sure your views colored what you saw, as mine will color what I see.

I saw it live on cspan.
I asked myself why Kean and Hamilton were so painfully "couching" their words. Of course they relied on "We found no evidence." By using this phrase (watch closely for the "no evidence" phrase from Bush) they just said they have no evidence. They agree someone else may have evidence to support the AQ/Saddam link. They were very careful to NOT imply that the President is wrong or fibbing.

This gives him room to dance.
This gives the President the ability to say "But he did this, and that." You will notice that he NEVER says: "We have evidence of the relationship between AQ +Saddam."

But the Media is invested in the Bush speak, they'll never explain the fine point I just made. They are a big player in the game. It was, of course, obvious to the press and viewers alike that the 911 Commission has begun sawing off the limb on which they are perched. Good thing a big news story has just happened which they can use all weekend. Imagine if Russert tackled the Bush Fiduciary Gap instead of the beheading.
Be prepared for All Mr. Johnson, all the time.

Last week I made a "noir" joke in which I said:

"I'm convinced they are going to murder someone important, in novel ways, every 4 to 7 days between now and the election to keep the Bush crapola off the front pages."
I came up with some novel scenarios picking the principals from Hollywood, NY, Washington, Texas and the Coalition of the Willing and Unwilling..
