Hey cheap labor is what's good for America's corporations, specifically the CEOs and other Emperors. That is Bush's agenda.

I have no problem with cheap labor, if it is legitimate and legal.

Of course he's right. That's not the question. Corporations will offshore to find people they can exploit.

Exploitation is legitimate. My people exploit my resources and I exploit theirs. It is the way of the world. The problem concerns the infringement of natural rights. There is no innate infringement with offshoring at all. There is quite an infringement when people destroy your right to govern who enters and consumes goods in your home. We ought to be sure to be honest as we discuss this issue, Doren.

The question for us is what do we want to do about it? There could be reasonable ways to import labor. For instance we could allow immigration but tax the immigrants and deny benefits.

That may be possible. Philosophically I don't have a problem with it. My company hires consultants, for example, who do not have the benefits of employees. The problem is, leftists will ultimately confuse the philosophy underlying this sort of approach to demand "rights" for the immigrants. Then we will be right where we are currently. I think it is best to try another approach.

As Bush said the have's and the "have mores".

This will always be the case. There is no way to stop it because we all have different skills and abilities in nature. And there is no valid reason why I should have what you have and to the same degree. We have different hopes and desires. These differences make a market. The issue here is rights. We should be free to do as we please, so long as we do not infringe in any way upon the rights of others.
