I agree ... our policies are thoroughly misguided and simple. I suspect that we are in Iraq for one reason -- to secure oil.

9/11 report seems like a whitewash -- I see no one has been fired as a result.

The beheadings of the two Americans are grisly, but killing for notoreity or to create fear is not new. The truth is our government can by no means protect those who work or travel abroad for leisure. This has always been true.

Saudis tolerated a lot of stuff for too long -- they won't be insulated from the results of their actions. They are wholly dependent on foreign labor ... if they don't get control soon, things are going to be pretty over there, even for them.

If we could just get someone who wouldn't be completely one-sided -- supporting Israel no matter what it does -- we might regain a smidgeon of credibility on the international scene.
