An update on today's action.

<<INDUSTRY: SOX Gives Up All of its Early 1.6% Morning Gain

Ridgeland, MS, JUN 18, 2004 (EventX/Knobias.com via COMTEX) -- The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (SOX -0.1%) returned to negative territory after peaking one hour into the session with a 1.6% gain. The group benefited from a strong 1.11 book to bill ratio and positive industry comments from both Merrill Lynch and WR Hambrecht. However the SOX, down (4.9%) this week, has developed a pattern of declining on good and bad news alike since June 8. Comm tech oriented issues (CIEN, MOT, QCOM, TXN) are among the industry's laggards. The SOX is often used as a leading indicator for the market.>>
