yeah, and not only the resources being wasted -- but also the breakdowns that led to the incident in the first place. 9/11 report seems like a whitewash -- US looks foolish and totally unprepared for invasive threats from the sound of the discussion on scrambling the jets ... and yet, no one is fired and Bush gets the wonderful title war president for:

Sending a massive force to a country that is completely outmatch by us in firepower -- declaring victory then keeping our troops there to have a whole bunch more get killed during the "peace." And like mish says -- where's bin Laden??

The largest problem as I see it is: Bush, Rummy and the neo-cons have lied to us about what the mission is -- protecting the US from further attacks is incidental to what they want to do on the international scene. I don't know why this hasn't received more critical attention in the press.
