I'm with you there. Emotionally I would like to.............................., again and again.

But intellectually, you know that is the exact reaction that the terrorist are looking for. The reason they behead a guy, with pictures, instead of just privately putting a bullet in his head is to get a reaction; it's theater for them (we are the audience). If we lose our reason, our sense of proportion, they win.

That was a lesson Europe learned in the 70's. It was what I was taught about terrorism at the time. That terrorism is essentially relatively small acts that they want people to project, to themselves and their friends, and then over-react. One American dead or alive means nothing to them... the reaction of millions of Americans means everything.

It's hard to tough it out. And see it for what it is.
