Ten, re: Yeah yeah, kind of like punching a wall whenever I'm angry. Except in this case, I'm wishing that the wall were instead the jaw of one of the beheaders. I'm with you there. Emotionally I would like to.............................., again and again. But intellectually, you know that is the exact reaction that the terrorist are looking for. The reason they behead a guy, with pictures, instead of just privately putting a bullet in his head is to get a reaction; it's theater for them (we are the audience). If we lose our reason, our sense of proportion, they win. That was a lesson Europe learned in the 70's. It was what I was taught about terrorism at the time. That terrorism is essentially relatively small acts that they want people to project, to themselves and their friends, and then over-react. One American dead or alive means nothing to them... the reaction of millions of Americans means everything. It's hard to tough it out. And see it for what it is. John
