AS,

Do you know what an "assault weapon" is? Do you understand the term? Could you point one of them out to me and tell me why it is more dangerous than my lever action .30-.30?

Can you tell me why, that in 1994 all of the sudden assualt weapons were deemed dangerous? You do know that the statistics of assualt weapons used in crimes is too insignificant to be meaningful, yes?

You have fallen for the buzz words of a certain class of rifle and all the hype surrounding it. Have you ever gone shooting?

Who is trying to take hunting rifles? That has nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with the Second Amendment. You need to understand that. That is more spin from the people who do want our guns.

The lovely and talented Ms Feistein herself was quoted as saying if she had 51 votes she would have said Mr and Mrs American turn in your guns. Schumer wants'em, Lautenberg wants'em, there is a whole group that wants the guns. They are a small but vocal group. They are going to lose their seats in this election.

The militias are not more radical NRA types. You go to the militia type sites and NRA members are scoffed at and the NRA is reviled. You need some fact checking on this argument. This is my area of interest and you are only quoting party line BS, no research at all.

Now, I am going to leave for a while but I will respond later. Although, honestly, I don't think we will ever agree about guns. You are too ill-informed to forumlate a valid argument, and too head strong to listen to someone who is well-informed.

Maybe you should focus on taking away al Qaeda's hunting rifles, instead. When is the last time you saw an NRA member committing jihad?

Two things for you to think about.

First:

Are you at all aware of US history?

Do you know why the population around Boston were so upset that "the British are coming"?

The British were coming to Boston to attempt capture of Sam Adams and John Hancock and to disarm the population.

Second:

Rights, once given up, are seldom given back. Your comment: "What people are trying to take away anyone's hunting rifles or common sense home security guns? NO ONE in power. That is the big lie of the NRA. shows your naive view.

The intent of the gun control lobby is to nibble away at the right to keep and bear arms, with each step identified as a "common sense" limitation...and just like credit card interest, before you know it, everything you had is gone...
