who cares? rural southerners do not rule the US, the blue states do. I'm sick of this relentless focus on "rural southerners". Their future is Kerry and they can deal with it or not. The "swing states" that the Bush people think will swing, will go Kerry because Bush as a leader sucks. Florida will not go Bush, nor Or or NV. THere isn't a single blue state from 00 that will turn red now, NOT ONE. Bush needs every state to line up as before and win a few... NO WAY. Maybe Alabama and South Carolina should break off and start their own redneck nation.
