RE: "Because I could"

Ultimate in sleaziness. Not a thought about Monica, i.e., she was nice, stimulating, intelligent, attractive, whatever.

I wonder why he didn't simply say "because she was there?"

Clinton makes me sick. His problem is his background. He never was taught how to behave like a gentleman, and he never bothered to learn.

In a small way, I feel sorry for Clinton. He is so "needy." He has great need to be in the center of attention nearly every minute. The other Presidents don't feel that compulsion, or if they do, it certainly isn't evident.

The NTY evidently has a bad (and that's not good( book review of the book.... But then, maybe it too is 'misinformation' because they think it will help him to sell books...Controversy sells, doesn't it.

Clinton says "I did it because I could." Isn't that a statement about everything. Nary a care about her, but it was all about him. Narcissist comes to mind again.

That statement vindicates what many people believed at the time. Clinton was motivated by power alone. Getting away with it. "I did it because I could", with that "I'm a naughty boy, but ya gotta love me" expression. It's pathological, IMO.

Leonard Peikoff had a spot on his radio show about just that point at the time. He was right.
