Don't misunderstand me Nadine. I hope that the ticket remains intact. I think Cheney's departure from the ticket for whatever reasons would have a momentary impact.

Bush and Cheney have done much together. Their continued service together is important for the Party and the Country.

Hi Nadine,
Politics is politics Nadine and Cheney isnt a viable candidate for Pres in 08. So if there is to be another VP incumbant he will have the inside track to nomination. The real political question is whether mccain or cheney better helps bush to get from Point A to Point B. I think Bush/MCain against Kerry/Gephardt is a winner. With cheney i am not so sure. And one further question, since mccain is pro-life and not really unattractive to the base, especially the religious right, why is the base at risk in any way? And where do those folks go anyway--to kerry?? And as for cheney, he still can play an important behind the scenes role for bush or who knows after reelection he can become Secy of State or Defense since one or both of those guys is expected to leave. I, too, value cheney's role in this admin and since 9/11 but as i said on top, politics is politics. Mike
