The May issue, describing stories about a number of women. I don't see how Monica has not profited. The kind of notoriety she now has is incredible. It is doubtful that she would want to go through the episode again, which is in my view the critical determinant of whether she profited. My guess is that she wished she had never met Clinton. It is probably very difficult for Monica to walk anywhere without being recognized and having people whisper about her behind her back. I suppose this will change with time, but these are supposed to be her best years. Sure, Monica was not a child. Does that excuse Clinton? Clinton's womanizing is a tired subject. Whether we like it or not, thanks to his book it will be a fairly large component of our national discussion in the next few months. Unfortunately, I cannot think of a more maudlin subject at a time when serious thought and discussion are required on much more consequential issues. The timing of his book's publication, in the middle of an election cycle, is another example of his self-aggrandizing, "hey, look at ME!, I'm so great!" behavior. I mean, look at the two of us, we're talking about Monica and Clinton's sex life, deadly dull subjects, instead of something more significant.
