You are reading and interpreting only those polls that are deliberately designed to support your preconceptions. Most of the "fair and balanced" polls reflect a distinct shift in Bush's favor during the past week. Most of the reliable polls now show him pulling him ahead in the important states and in the overall race. But keep on looking at the ones that please you. Perhaps they will lull you and others into relaxing your pace as the race begins to really heat up. We are a long way from the home stretch where all horses will be revved up for the final dash to victory. By the time we get there, Kerry will think that Dukakis had it easy indeed. And we know what happened to Dukakais.
