Dropped a few decimal places. :-)
I was in the Mission Control Center at that facility for the 3 weeks following launch as the satellite was checked out before being shot to its final orbit approximately 100 miles behind the earth in the same orbit.
That should have been 100,000,000 miles behind the earth. :-) Also, it's actually offset a bit from the earth's orbit, so it will cross in front of the earth every several decades.

But that is NOT a military facility. I've been in those too. Believe me, the security at that facility is WAY behind that of a military launch control or mission control center or missile manufacturing plant.
