I think the security requirements imposed on this convention will mean that future conventions are either downsized radically or moved to locations out in the country that can be more easily secured.

The parties won't quit on their own. Television will continue to give them free advertising. So the downsizing has to come from the convention cities. I think the bids will be a lot lower next time.
