Heavens X......asking someone if they have ever experienced a wilderness trek or the beauty of camping in a minimalist style next to a wild river or lake is not getting personal. Nor is asking someone with such obvious concern for the environment whether they have been to the places she wishes to preserve personal.

Have you traversed a mountain trial carved by centuries of animal migration? Witnessed a feeding frenzy by the awesome and formidable Alaskan Brown Bear during the Salmon run? Watched a pair of Osprey feeding their young in a nest perched precariously on the top of an old snag? Caught....or tried to catch a trout in a small stream......with your bare hands? Watched Big Horned Sheep, through binoculars from a vantage point several hundred yards away, staying as quiet and still as possible so as not to disturb the mating ritual of ramming horns? Witnessed Mt. Goat navigate sheer walls of rock? Rounded a bend on a hike and seen a carpet of wildflower spread before you so magnificent you almost want to cry....and making sure you stick to the trail so as not to disturb its pattern? Have you yodeled across green canyons bathed in morning light? Soothed an aching back on the hot sands on the shores of Lake Powell? Photographed the marvels of what flash floods do to the walls of a Slot Canyon?

I take what you think about the management of the wilderness very seriously. I just thought since you were so concerned that you had actually experienced the wilderness yourself.

I try to go out of my way to be polite.......sometimes I fail...pardon me.

I have no preconceived notion about you because I look at everyone in the same way, and I will offer an opinion when something I hear goes against my beliefs.

I don't collect negative data on people.......never have. Are you projecting?

I couldn't care less about your personal life, and
I must admit I am certainly more comfortable with my own opinions as opposed to yours. -gg-
