What Useful Idiot Media? Liberal Media blog Larry Johnson, the Foreign Desk Editor at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, recently traveled to Syria and (Syrian-occupied) Lebanon where he met with Syrian dictator Bashar Assad and Hizbullah "spiritual leader"/terrorism promoter Muhammad Fadlallah. Johnson shares his findings in today's column, headlined "Arab and Muslim world wants to be friends with us -- just not our government" : It seems like it never occurred to the president that Osama bin Laden and his supporters hate us because of our foreign policy in the Middle East -- our first Persian Gulf War with Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, the second Persian Gulf war and for what is seen as our blind support for Israel ... I came back with the impression that people there don't hate "us" at all. They hate our government. They hate U.S. foreign policy Fair enough, Assad and Fadlallah hate our government for liberating other Muslims from tyranny and for refusing to collaborate in their project to ethnically cleanse the Jews out of the Middle East.
