I had to go shopping with Fuzzerrella yesterday, because she needed a new cell phone, and I had to sign for it in person. Pretty cool; it was the first time I've been her passenger. I handled it pretty well.

She just got her grades. Yawn. 4 point :-)
She said she had only gotten a B+ for the first quarter in algebra 2(she "blamed" that on Mock Trial preparations), but got an A+ second quarter. Her teacher (and mock trial advisor) is also the counselor, and called Malila in to discuss next year's classes. She pulled out her math tests, really looking at the whole quarter at once, for the first time. Ms. MW (that's what everybody calls her; I'm not trying to conceal her identity from Ashcroft) gives standardized tests. Based on percentiles; 99 is as good as it gets.

Ms MW: "Oh, my, do you realize you got one 98 and all the rest were 99?"
Malila: "Yeap".

"And I only gave you a B+ the first quarter?"

"Yeap " :-)

We started talking about the class, and aside from Mock Trial, something else happened. Somewhere along the line, the light came on, and it went from knowing the material to that gut "Oh, I get it" understanding of the field. Like Physics; you might be able to get A's, but you may never really, gut level, get it. Well, she got it.
