I certainly appreciate your points about archiving and lost links.

I was commenting on the current accessibility of Michal's chosen media for his art. This goes to the whole digital revolution. By way of contrast: there was a discussion upstream about HCB and I was surprised to find that one can still order freshly signed prints from his negatives that are created by his workshop (about $5000 a pop). What I guess that I am realizing myself is that, regardless of the resolution, the 21th century digital artist can share an exact copy of the original image with his admirers...imagine getting identical copies of Atget's or Ansel Adams's negatives to play with!

Not that the size or the color balance of my monitor would necessarily match Michal's intentions as to how the pictures should best be displayed...so I am not suggesting that this undercuts the artist's choice of expressing the final image. Certainly, if Michal does translate these very expressive images to print, I would like to flip through a copy myself...I just think it would be neat if there would also be a CD in the back cover with the master images!

Now I'm thinking about knocking my monitor back to VGA resolution and getting a full-screen look at those snaps again. I've actually been experimenting with some relatively low resolution digital images myself although I don't have either Michal's talent or his technique to make fine art in only 640x480
