I think there are a few things that Roach missed:

1. unlike equities bubble, real estate bubble affects a lot more households and have a much stronger wealth effect on the economy.

2. unlike equities, which are mainly discretionary wealth, real estate wealth effect involves the home, the shelter. The bursting of the equities bubble brought a lot of pain but bursting the real estate bubble can bring significant consequences to those over extended.

Right now, I like to see how the Feds are going to treat the consequences of the real estate bubble in the same masterful manner that they claimed they treated the equities bubble which they also claimed never existed in the first place.
