By God, tejek, I wondered all along who really wrote Al Gore's last screetch at the MOVE-ON Bush Bashfest. Now I know. It was Ted Sorenson. And Ted delivered it himself at New School University before passing it on to Gore. Funny: That other Kerry, (you know, the fair and balanced Democrat on the 9/11 Commission who also happens to be president of the New School) invited Ted to cleanse all remaining conservative or independent residue of thought from those brains of the soon-to-be graduates before launching them out into that cruel cold world ruled by Republicans and other Right Wingers. Ted's "cry from the heart" is at least a bit easier on the ears (one can hope) than the high-pitched animal howl of a lost in the woods former Democratic presidential candidate. Maybe Ted and Al can call up Dr. Dean and take him out for a long lunch to teach him a thing or two about speech-making.

Excellent post. It says a lot about how the hate and venom we see posted on the SI BB are similar to the hate that is permeating this country. Instead of debate the boards have become a place of name calling and demeaning of the poster. It seems impossible to express an opinion different from the one that is usually copied and pasted....excepting a few posters who just rant and rave but do not offer any debatable subject except discrediting the poster.......without incurring the wrath of others who bombard ... IN good faith we all hope are posting the truth.. But everyone sees truth differently. At the Library today I was going through the section of Political Books. Now, there's diversity. There is a book for each opinion. Each author telling his side of the story. I got Alan Durchwitz.(.ex.sp.) on how the Supreme Court stole the Presidency from Gore. Now, why did I choose that book. Namely because I wanted to know the role of the Supreme Court on that issue in depth. Also I know the author. I almost chose a book by Woodward because I know him Anyway, my point... This post by Sorenson is very relevant for me. It expresses so much of what I feel. Not what I know but what intuitively I feel about what is happening to our magnificent country.
