By the definition of some people, the men of almost every town would have been identified as militia in the days of our founding fathers.

If trouble broke out in those days, every able bodied man came out to end it...

Now, in similar circumstances, they are expected to hide under a coffee table and wait for help.

Our founding fathers WERE right wing militias who wished they had huge military arsenals, but they did ok with what they had.

By today's political standards, they were about as right-wing as one could imagine.
