Not just Gates...Peoplesoft, SAP, Oracle and others. Back and front office productivity improved...a first for office productivity due to computers. (The first several generations of software didn't improve productivity, but did improve quality as reports, memo's etc. started going through 5 or more revisions, since they were 'easy' to change.

Significant reduction in the friction of doing business occurred thoughout the 90's. The coordinated use of those technologies allowed the improved profitability that drove growth.

It started in the later Bush Sr. years.

Look at inflation as well. It was tamed by the end of the Bush Sr. years...the only thing Clinton can claim there is not screwing it up...
