So you're saying OBL stopped attacking the Soviets when they withdrew from Afghanistan but started again when they began attacking Chechnya. The withdrawal, the breakup of the Soviet Union, and the beginning of the Chechnyan conflict all happened very closely in time. Not sure how one could tell that OBL stopped and quickly recommenced operations.

Of course, your real message is that OBL acts only defensively. Which we know not to be true.
