I know that ten years from now those printed catalogs will still work fine...but will my CD-ROMS still scale up on whatever high definition electronic display device that I'll be using?

I ran into some similar problems when I started trying to design a CD last year. I borrowed some CDs of various ages from the library and some of them wouldn't work right on various computers and the monitor resolution was an issue. I soon realized that I'd probably be running into similar problems with my own CD. And then, on top of all that, I do almost all of my work with a Mac, but most people use PCs, and cross-platform, not everything looked or worked the same on both.. arggghhh!!! I finally gave up and shelved the project for the summer. Books seem so much easier! What's to malfunction? The cover falls off? A page gets torn? <g>
