Republicans and Democrats merely stand for different aspects of the same core statism; they differ only in their stated reasons for coercion against individual citizens.

I agree, which is why I find it laughable that some suppossed Libertarians vote for the Republicans out of the lesser of two evils mentality. Anyone who is a true Libertarian and believes in the values of libertarianism should be voting Libertarian. The Ds and Rs don't have anything to offer them. That whole rhetoric about the Rs being the party of smaller less intrusive government is a joke these days after massive deficit spending, PATRIOT Act infringments on the Bill of Rights, and huge new beauracracies like Homeland Security. Both are statist parties, looking to increase and further the power of the state that supports them.
