In retrospect, national health care was exactly what we needed in 1994. Look at the huge inflation of Health care costs since, especially during the Bush years when the HMO's and drug companies showered the GOP with money in exchange for the right to gouge us all.

The 1994 election was also influenced by Clinton (and Kerry) making the daring move to defy the GOP congress and insist on balancing the budget. Boy could we use that fiscal discipline now. Bush will leave his successor with the more horrendous deficits ever.
