Yeah, but Clinton managed to get elected anyway. The decisive factor in the 1994 election was Hillary Clinton's health care plan.

In retrospect, national health care was exactly what we needed in 1994. Look at the huge inflation of Health care costs since, especially during the Bush years when the HMO's and drug companies showered the GOP with money in exchange for the right to gouge us all.
