That original order is not chronological though, right?

The Zondervan notes estimate the writing of Job at 2000-1000 BC. They certainly leave a little room for error in that estimate. Ruth is set in the time of Judges which is 1375-1050 BC.

And Ruth is a luuuvvv story. Homeless girl chooses to honor her homeless mother by staying homeless with her to care for her. Then homeless girl lands millionaire husband, and they live happily ever after.

The book of Ruth is the most NT-like of the OT books that I have read so far. The central themes are love, faithfulness to family, charity, and a rejection of material wealth as the answer to one's problems. It is fitting that the union of Ruth and Boaz produces the line of David, which eventually produces Jesus.
