So going after leaders of terror worked :
"
The officers briefing Mofaz on Tuesday said there was a 75 percent drop in attempted or actual suicide attacks during the first six months of 2004 compared to the same period last year, participants at the meeting said.

No Israelis have been killed since May 14, when two soldiers were killed in the Gaza Strip (news - web sites), although a Thai farm worker died Monday in a mortar attack on a Gaza settlement.

The last suicide bombing to take Israeli lives was a joint Hamas-Al Aqsa attack March 14 on a port in southern Israel, killing 11 Israelis.

Palestinian officials said Monday they were trying absorb Al Aqsa militants into the Palestinian establishment, but many were resisting promises of jobs and money.

Al Aqsa said it would agree to the offers — part of an Egyptian-led cease-fire deal — only under certain conditions.

Re: And who says Israel's blatant "infidelity" can't also be the cause of a divorce from the US right-wingers?!

To be sure, US paleo-conservatives/-rightwingers are long divorced from Israel and its Likud freaks, whereas Judeoconservatives/far-rightists are closer to Israel than ever... Just read some articles of The American Conservative, in particular Pat Buchanan's --and you'll see that they all could have been written by (pro-Arab) European editors:

Re: Turkish sources confidentially report that the Turks are increasingly concerned by the expanding Israeli presence in Kurdistan and alleged encouragement of Kurdish ambitions to create an independent state. . .

The Kurds had better take a look at the mess in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo... The US secret, cynical agenda is to turn Kurdistan into another Kosovo --and a permanent backyard for the US military... Remember my "squall-line" theory: it's in the US's best interest to move along the geopolitical border between Islam and the West like a firefighters brigade... But for the US firefighters to secure their jobs it might be necessary to stir it up in some areas...
