Problem is that, if you are comparing prices in, for instance, hieraldic texts, the reference is to a "good suit". Funny also, is the mention of wooden closets (that old stuff you use to lit your BBQ) which were signs of wealth in the Middle Ages.<g>
Should check my archives, had sometin' before my last computer dead. But certain it was not ONE ounce. More likely a "soap" bar (soaps ranges from 4 to 10 ounces).
