Ted, for some reason the media isn't discussing Kim Sun-Il's strong Christian faith. He went to seminary, studied Arabic, and dreamed of doing mission work in the Middle East. But it seems he never dreamed of being a martyr.

Every article I've read says he's an evangelical Christian who speaks Arabic and was doing missionary work in Iraq.
I am unclear why you think he will be a martyr. Was Nick Berg a martyr? Paul Johnson?

I know what you're thinking. He probably should have known the risks and avoided going to Baghdad in the first place. You're probably right, but to me, that doesn't make his death any less significant. I believe the terrorists knew about his Christian faith, too, which is why he was chosen as the next "star" of their video production.

I think you're fishing.......I think they chose him because he was terrified. What better advertising for their cause. Remember the goal of the terrorists is to scare us......and it worked very well with Mr. Sun-Il. I feel very sorry for him.......I hope Korea sends no more missionaries. And I hope all civilian Americans get out of there.
