The lies of Michael Moore.
By Christopher Hitchens
slate.msn.com;

First, let me say this.........its rare someone writes as much as this guy does and says so little of consequence. There is no question he is articulate........but he is like a painter without focus. The result is a splattering of nothing.

Secondly, to believe his conclusion that Moore has lied in his film requires a huge leap of faith in the author; that the reporting of his alleged conversations with Moore are honest and accurate, and that his quoting of the 'facts' is correct.

Thirdly, some of his comments are just outright, rightwing BS. I don't know of any liberal who envies Rush or any of the other stars of the right. Furthermore, I have seen the clip of Bush on the golf course and I don't care who had been in that clip, it would have been offensive. In fact, someone like Clinton would never have said what Bush said in the manner in which he said it. He had more sophistication that that.

Fourthly, its becoming increasingly clear that the potential for civil war in this country is growing. The two sides have become recalcitrant and unyielding. Its really too bad. I do not look forward to the post election period.
