Bush has spent more tax-payer money flying around to fundraisers and campaign events than the last three presidents combined. He used all that loot (which we actually paid for in terms of Air Forfce 1 etc.) to wage a dishonest nagative TV attack campaign against Kerry. The ads were all lies and the campaign largely failed. So we all just wasted a couple hundred million dollars on this bozo who should have been at home working for a change.

The President flying to a location is different than two members of the same family flying to the same location in their two jets.

Having said that, it is too costly and not worth it to us for many of any Presidents trips. They could be cut back, but people do want to see the leader, unfortunately only a small number does when they take the trip, so the cost per person averages out to be way too high.

The security detail is unbelievable, but worth it. The President must have the best security.

I do not care who the President is in my example, I am not referring to anyone President in particular, but instead, I refer to the position.

Not one thing that President Bush does away from Washington, nor John Kerry, (who is never there...(s)) is tied to our country needs as much as to their own personal political gain. It is carefully thought out and we foot the bill...in the President's case.

This last week Bush flew down here to McDill AFB, in Air Force One. Of course we can all imagine the costs of all the accompanying security, cars, cover aircraft etc.
He did it to talk to some troops. Of course America paid for that "speech to the troops", and he then proceeded to use it as a free PR trip down here to make additional speeches to the press.

Now I think you should give that a thought also. O.K.?
