Clintonites were well aware of the danger from Al Qaida to the US homefront. They were actually doing something about it. Maybe not enough but a lot. Once Bushies tok power, absolutely nothing was done about terrorism. As Clarke said "Bush ignored terrorism". Condi Rice did too. You rightwingers cannot find a single speech by either Rice or Bush prior to 9-11 about terrorism. They simply didn't have it on their list of priorities. To them the useless SDI system was the #1 priority followed by an invasion of Iraq (probably for the oil).
