Ask anybody in special ops if they thought the war in Iraq helped them to pursue the terrorists they were hunting down -- they will tell you it took them off of job 1 and put them on a diversionary course that did nothing but provide the terrorists with time and space to regroup -- which is one of the reasons they have been so effective of late.

<<Personally, I think the coming together of terrorists (of all stripes), in Iraq, to be preferable to looking for them in every nook and cranny of the planet.>>

I just had a friend return from Iraq for surgery, he was over there training Iraqis on how to be policemen. One thing he said that amazed me was when they'd catch one of the bad guys they'd tell you anything you wanted to know. Give him a Coke and a smoke and turn on the tape. No code of honor like the Mafia. They didn't even try to lie.
