Of course. Why you see that as contradictory to the post I provided, is beyond me.

I was not aware that compulsive was an unusual word. Speaking of the use of unfamiliar words, I have no clue what a neologism is.

I have no problem with the word obsessive. The two are typically used interchangeably. They are often thought of as synoyms. I tend to use compulsive to describe conduct and obsessive to describe a mental preoccupation. But that may simply be a personal preference.
