Although I think Gephart as veep selection, it could be Edwards.

Edwards maybe helps with the Southern vote, but Gephart helps with the unions.

Problem I see with Edwards is, as noted, he is much more dynamic than Kerry, and could be viewed by Kerry as a threat.
