The key thing is to have center party.

Btw, even the coalition governments in Italy have, contrary to some opinions, been very stable. Every year the same party has formed almost the same government, again and again... (just replacing some ministers)

I would recommend taking some hours with this latest material on the topic, especially as it is done from an anglo-american background.
