Jim, a money manager who manages money is always for positive news - most of the money managed by various types is long debt and equities therefore they are taking the non sense published by BLS et. al and are happy if their portfolio has gains that quarter so he can pocket some bonuses.

That is the game that is played around - no one cares if the pension J6P will receive does not keep it's buying power, what counts is that J6P receives a pension at all.

BTW - a fiend of mine who manage $400 million RE fund is selling all their RE holding and remain only in liquid RE debt.

Further the client of another CPA friend is liquidating all his RE portfolio - the name is well known in the US and the RE portfolio is several big $ billions.
